                            The Bhartiya Public School Chamba was established in the year 1971 with a object to impart every kind of education which has directly or indirectly the object or effect of popularizing strengthening and developing Aryan Sanskriti with Sh. Sagar Chand Nayyar as its first Chairman and Mr. Kuldeep Chand Chowfla, Mr. Manmohan Joshi, Mr. Dharam Pal Mahajan, Mr. Gauri Shankar Sharma, Mr. Ram Kumar Gupta and Mr. Mangat Ram Verma as executive members and the society was registered under the Society Registration Act XXI of 1860 with Registration No. 186/1973 dated 9th November 1973.

                           To ensure that education is more formative then  informative so that it may be able to shape and develop the natural talents of the students and also enable him/her to absorb and express the permanent values of Indian culture. To establish, control, direct, take over, conduct, supervise, develop and manage/and or join in the establishment control directions taking over conduct supervision development and management of Schools, Institutions and bodies for giving and imparting any kind of description of education and training including without prejudice to the generality and in particular primary and secondary academical, vocational, professional as well as education and training in arts, science, commerce including fine arts and craft. 

                               The first school namely Bhartiya Public School Chamba was established in the year 1971 in the heart of the chamba town up to the primary standard headed by Headmistress Mrs. K. Anand. The School was upgraded to a High School in the year 1980 and the school was headed by Mr. Barkat Ram Mahajan. The Bhartiya Public School Chamba was upgraded in the year 2000 as Senior Secondary with arts, commerce and science streams headed by Mrs. Bhuwan Sharma, M.A. M.Phil. B.Ed. as Principal of the School. Mrs. Pratima Banerjee, M.A. B.Ed. and Mr. Parmesh Puri, M.B.A.  also headed as Principal of the Bhartiya Public Sr. Sec. School Chamba during the said year. Presently Mrs. Bhuwan Sharma is Principal of the Bhartiya Public Sr. Sec. School Chamba HP w.e.f. 12-12-2000. 

                                       The Bhartiya Public School Chamba was headed by the Chairman Sh. Sagar Chand Nayyar from 13-4-1971 to 28-2-1976, Sh. Mangat Ram Verma from 1-3-1976 to 31-3-1978, Sh. Sham Lal Mahajan from 1-4-1978 to 31-12-1992, Sh. R.K. Gupta from 1-1-1993 to 30-4-1995, Sh. Mangat Ram Verma from 1-5-1995 to 31-3-1998 and thereafter Mr. Dharam Malhotra, B.A. LL.B. P.G.D.P.M. & L.W. is Chairman of the School from 1-4-1998 and presently Mr. Dhruv Sharma, B.Sc. C.A.I.I.B. Rtd. Chief Manager SBI is Vice Chairman, Mr. Devinder Singh Jandrotia, B.Sc. LL. B. is General Secretary, Mr. Sunil Plah, B.Sc. LL.B. is Treasurer and Dr. Keshav Verma, Mr. Kishori Lal Prashar, Mr. Parmesh Puri, Mr. Atul Chona and Mr. Kuldeep Kukreja are the Executive Members and Ld. S.D.M. Chamba is the Exofficio member of the Society.  

               In the year 2000 the Bhartiya Public School Chamba in order to provide quality education to the rural periphery of Chamba Town opened Two Primary Schools at Sultanpur and Sarol which are now upgraded to the High Schools as Bhartiya Public School Sultanpur High and Bhartiya Public School Sarol  High in the year 2012-2011 respectively are headed by Mrs. Darshan Kaur, B.A. B.Ed. w.e.f. April,2000 and Mr. Rajender Chauhan, B.A. B.Ed. w.e.f. 2-4-2005. A primary school has also been started as Bhartiya Public School Mugla in the year 2003 which is presently headed by Mr. Akash Sharma, B.A. B.Ed. 

                    All the Bhartiya Public Schools are resolved to be completely digitized in its Golden Jubilee session 2020-21 to be one of the best schools in India. All the Schools are having qualified, experienced and devoted Teachers and staff. All the schools are having smart class rooms, well equipped laboratories, and are recognized by the Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and Bhartiya Public Sr. Sec. School Chamba, Bhartiya Public School Sultanpur High and Bhartiya Public School Sarol High are affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education Dharamshala.
